Mr. Abaziou is President and CEO of Techno-Sciences, Inc. Prior to his appointment at TSI, Mr. Abaziou was a venture partner at Highland Capital Partners. He has a long and impressive track record as an international senior executive at such technology leaders as Ericsson and Alcatel. Prior to working with Highland Capital, Mr. Abaziou was Vice President and General Manager of Ericsson IP Infrastructure and President and CEO of both Torrent Networking Technologies (where he presided over an acquisition of the company by Ericsson) and Alcatel Data Networks. He has served on a number of boards and advisory boards, including for the French Foreign Commerce Ministry, George Washington University, the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland and the French-American Chamber of Commerce.
Robert S. West, M.S., F.A.C.H.E.
Mr. West is a seasoned health care administrator with over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in both the hospital and physician practice settings. He is Board Certified in Health Care Management and is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. Mr. West holds a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Maryland with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. He has expertise in physician/hospital relations, health care financial management, strategic planning, and service line development. Mr. West is the Chief Executive Officer of Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates of Baltimore, the largest private specialty practice of its kind in the country. Mr. West oversees all business activities of the organization and manages contractual relations with 10 hospitals, where 43 private practice physicians manage nationally recognized intensive care units. Mr. West developed an interventional pulmonology service line and clinical research department within the company and partnering hospitals. He is a consultant for multiple physician practices and hospitals on issues of strategic planning, physician/hospital contracts, and entrepreneurial endeavors. In previous positions, Mr. West developed nationally recognized clinical programs and JCAHO certified disease based clinical services aligning hospital administration, employed physicians and private physician practices. He has worked as a service line director as well as an operating room manager at major community hospitals in Maryland. Mr. West has managed one of the largest trauma databases in the world and coordinated retrospective research activities and clinical outcomes reporting. He has been published as a lead author and supporting investigator in many peer review journals.
Dr. Greg Hiemenz, President and CEO
Dr. Hiemenz is a dynamic, versatile business leader with over a decade of experience in leading the development of new products and growing business. He is skilled in creating winning market-based strategies and executing them through cross-functional teams and is able to quickly grasp new technologies and translate them into strategy and value propositions. Prior to InnoVital Systems, Dr. Hiemenz served as Vice President of the Advanced Technologies Division at Techno-Sciences Inc. (TSI). During his tenure at TSI, Dr. Hiemenz spearheaded research and development of advanced technologies into military and commercial markets and was responsible for creating a new product line for protecting soldier’s spines during IED blasts and helicopter crashes. He has worked closely with academia to evaluate and transition cutting-edge technologies into marketable products. He currently leads a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team engineers while directing business development and proposal efforts, supervising personnel and staffing needs, managing intellectual property and business agreements, and performing market analyses for emerging technologies. Prior to joining TSI, Dr. Hiemenz spent several years at a major defense contractor serving as a technical specialist and integrated product team leader. Dr. Hiemenz graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering at Catholic University of America where he earned several awards for being the top ranked student in the School of Engineering. He subsequently earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at UMD under a Graduate School Fellowship. Because of his research successes, he was awarded a Vertical Flight Foundation fellowship from the American Helicopter Society and the AIAA Hal Andrews Young Engineer of the Year Award in 2008. He has published over 20 conference and journal papers and has 7 patents issued and another 6 patents pending.
